ANNOUNCEMENT — HILLY HUNDRED

The 2016 running of the Hilly Hundred is this weekend, Friday, October 21 to Sunday, October 23. For those not familiar, the Hilly Hundred is a bicycle event for touring cyclists sponsored by the Central Indiana Bicycling Association. Cyclists from around the country and from around the world will be in town to participate in this event.

The event will start on Sycamore Drive near the Edgewood Junior High School. The long route will take cyclists down Reeves Road towards downtown Ellettsville to Main Street where they will proceed to Matthews Drive and out into the county. Officers from the Ellettsville Police Department and other area law enforcement agencies will be assisting cyclists at busier intersections.

If you are traveling in the area this weekend, please watch for cyclists and officers directing traffic. Allow yourself extra time for traveling as you may experience delays due to this event.

Cyclists and motorists alike are encouraged to be courteous to one another. If motorists observe unsafe riding behavior in Monroe County, please contact 812-876-2272 to report it. Cyclists are encouraged to do the same if they observe unsafe driving behavior.
